Advising On...
Our advice team will listen
to your particular circumstances and provide you with advice
and support covering:
- The next steps you will need
to give consideration to and what to do next
- Who can administer the estate
and how
- What the legal, tax and administrative
responsibilities are associated with the role
- The options and choices that
are available to you when deciding what to do next
One of the first things we will
ask you is whether there is an original Will or if there is not
an original Will any letters or indeed any other document that
was left indicating what was supposed to happen to the assets.
Obviously an original Will is best but if you can only find a
copy that will do for the time being. You may find that no Will
was left and so this will be what is called an intestacy where
the assets are divided according to law. We shall advise you
further on this.
If you are the executor of a
Will you will need to know what your roles and responsibilities
are.
Being named as an Executor of
a Will bears certain duties upon you when someone dies and this
can take many months to complete. It is important to get it right
because as the Executor you are legally responsible for administering
the estate according to the terms of the Will. We can of course
give you piece of mind knowing you have our expertise to deal
with this for you.
This can be a very daunting prospect,
especially once you come to realise that the role carries with
it considerable administrative, legal and tax responsibilities.
If you find yourself in this situation then call us now on 01245
216050 and we can help.
What will you need
to pay?
We shall clearly set out what fees will be involved and make
this as simple and easy for you as we can. We understand and
appreciate that this is an emotional time for you and therefore
you do not want the worry of large unexpected legal fees. There
is no obligation when you first call us and we will give you
as much help as we can. Once your initial questions have been
answered we can then quote you for any further work you wish
us to carry out. We can provide an all inclusive fixed fee service
agreed with you before the commencement of this work if you prefer.
We can also explain and discuss with you other fee structures
that may be more suitable in the circumstances. Our Probate fees
are taken from the estate meaning that in normal circumstances
you would not generally bear the financial burden of administering
the estate. This gives you the assurance that there will be no
hidden costs and certainty as to what exactly needs to be paid.
